The Chess Piece: AI Perfume Product Film

A self-initiated 25-second product film for a real mid-range perfume product with a bottle shaped like a sculptural chess piece.

The product is real. This video was created independently as portfolio work, exploring a distinct visual direction around the bottle’s unusual form.

The chess-piece shape became the starting point for the entire film. I treated the perfume bottle as the main character: poised, strategic, graphic, and slightly mysterious.

Rather than making a conventional product showcase, I built a visual world that makes the bottle feel tactile and memorable. Each frame was designed to keep attention on its sculptural silhouette while adding atmosphere and motion.

I developed the concept and visual direction from the ground up. AI helped me create and animate the frames, but I directed the overall look, selected the final visuals, shaped the pacing, and assembled the finished film.

The goal was to explore how AI-assisted workflows can support a focused product story without losing creative control over the final piece.

Defined the creative direction around the product’s chess-piece form.

Developed a visual language that felt polished, atmospheric, and product-led.

Generated and selected AI-assisted frames that supported the story.

Animated the chosen frames into short video clips.

Edited the clips into a 25-second product film in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Added music and sound effects to create rhythm, texture, and a more immersive final sequence.
