Worked closely with Dr. Julia to deliver comprehensive brand design and development services that captured the essence of her new practice. The final package included an extensive brand guide and ethos, versatile logo formats, business cards, and a high-performance website with near-perfect Lighthouse scores.

My process began by meeting with Dr. Julia to discuss her vision for her new practice and how she wanted potential and existing patients to feel. Having just moved to Newport Beach, California, her ideal branding would evoke the peace and serenity of the coast.

Following this meeting, I designed a mood board that included font pairings, color theory, stock images, and a word map on which we would build the statement. This became the foundation for the brand development.

The final logo was inspired by the coastline at sunset. The colors are soothing, welcoming, and rich. They serve as the palette for all branded material. The primary logo, above, was worked into several other formats for print and web usage.

Beyond the logo, a brand guidebook was provided that expanded upon the mood board and provided all the details needed to work with the Mente Operandi brand. I also designed a set of social media templates for Canva along with editable business cards.

As a small business, SEO was a top priority for Dr. Julia, so I chose to work with Next.JS early on in this project. I used a customized version of Chakra-UI for styling due to time constraints.

The website development began with a Figma design based on the Mente Operandi brand identity. I then followed Next best practices to achieve stellar Lighthouse scores that Dr. Julia could build upon with an SEO firm in the next phase of her business growth (something we had discussed before starting). Development also included animation, additional pages over time, and the scaffolding for a CMS if Dr. Julia decided to add that feature.
