Avis is one of the largest car rental companies in the world, operating across airports and cities globally. We worked on their mobile app as UI and motion designers across a long engagement, covering the NAM (North America) booking flow, the celebratory states, the motion work, and the App Store assets for launch.
The app runs across regions with different requirements, so NAM (North America) and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) needed separate booking flows that still felt like one product. Designing each independently would have meant two apps wearing the same logo.
The Strategy
Build the flows from a shared component set so both regions assemble from the same parts. Regional differences live in the flow, not in the interface, which keeps the product consistent and makes future markets cheaper to add.
The Solution
We designed the NAM booking flow end to end, from search through to confirmation. Celebratory screens mark the moment a booking lands, turning a transactional step into something that registers. Card animations loop through the browsing states to keep the interface alive while a user compares options. The same system carried through to the App Store screenshots, so the listing matched the product.
App Store
The App Store listing is often the first screen a user sees, before the app itself. We designed the screenshot set for launch, built from the same system as the product so the listing and the experience read as one.
