Compare The Market is a British financial services and general insurance comparison website, which allows customers to compare prices on a range of products. The company is well-known for its meerkat toy mascot, Aleksandr Orlov, that appears in the company's advertising campaigns. Compare the Market, wanted to create a one-stop financial help hub called Meerkat Your Life. They had got a wealth of information to share, but nowhere to put it. That's where I came in. They were looking for a solution in the form of a blog platform that can showcase featured, bespoke content, as well as the standard blog posts. Simples!
The Process
I led the team in creating a killer website for CtM. We had a few meetings, I figured out what they wanted and how to solve there needs. I cracked on and made some visuals (wireframes) to show them how it would look and come together.
After a couple iterations the, Creative Director gave it the green light, then we passed it off to the dev team. Design-wise, we went with a simple grid system for the homepage, making it look good and easy to navigate. I was able to create a set of blocks that could be repeated throughout the site, giving the client the ability to whip up unique pages super quick! The client needed things done fast, and I was ready for it - my secret weapon, a streamlined design library that let me whip up and tweak elements on the fly.
We built the platform on Craft CMS, which made it user-friendly with a bespoke builder on the backend. This helped the client create blog posts easily and fit the style of the site. Plus, it loaded lightning fast at 0.9 seconds, making it more accessible and user-friendly for visitors. Overall, the client was happy with the final outcome and I delivered it on time and on budget
