NOW Magazine

If you’ve lived in Toronto at any point, you’ve likely come across an issue of NOW. It was (… perhaps a gentle emphasis on “was”) a trusted stalwart for Toronto journalism – a weekly paper and website that kept the city updated, alive, and accountable.

This work with NOW involved comprehensive editorial design and art direction for the print issues that effectively conveyed its diverse content. By providing consistent branding, engaging layouts, and advertising integration to deadline, it was design that built up creativity, collaboration, visual acumen, and project management.

It was admittedly challenging to strike the balance between reinvigorating NOW's visual language without alienating its loyal audience. But it was equally satisfying to work on something so public-facing and respected, and to lead and transform the brand. Ultimately, I’m proud that the design enhancements such as refined layouts and attention-grabbing covers brought vibrancy and relevancy to the publication.
