Connexa – Premium Swipe-Based Dating App (UX & Product Design)

Connexa is a modern, location-based dating application designed to create emotionally engaging first impressions while keeping interactions frictionless.

Objective:

• Increase profile interaction rate • Improve match quality perception • Create a bold, premium visual identity • Reduce cognitive overload in swipe flow

The product targets urban professionals aged 22–35 who value design, simplicity, and intentional matching.

The Challenge

Most dating apps look and behave the same:

• Generic swipe cards • Cluttered profiles • Weak visual branding • Low emotional engagement • Fast churn after first week

Users scroll. Swipe. Forget.

The client wanted differentiation through design, not just features.

Our Strategy

We structured the experience into three core pillars:

Everything unnecessary was removed.

UX Architecture

We redesigned the flow around simplicity:

• Focused onboarding • Single dominant card per screen • Clear match percentage indicator • Intent-driven CTA buttons

The swipe interface was refined to:

• Reduce accidental swipes • Highlight match probability • Increase emotional curiosity

Users understand instantly what to do.

Visual Design System

We built a bold, high-contrast dark theme.

Primary choices:

• Black and charcoal base • Warm red and orange gradient accents • Neon-inspired match indicators • Strong portrait emphasis

Why?

Dark backgrounds increase perceived luxury. Warm gradients increase emotional intensity. High contrast improves focus on faces.

The result feels cinematic, not casual.

Profile Design

We elevated the profile layout to feel personal, not transactional.

Included:

• Large hero image • Clear age and verification badge • Location visibility • Match score visibility • Structured bio section • Interest tags

Profiles now feel curated.

Not rushed.

Interaction Design

We designed micro-interactions that feel intentional:

• Smooth card stacking transitions • Animated match score • Visual feedback on swipe • Clear state changes on action

Small details increase perceived quality.

Perceived quality increases trust.
