Deja Voo is a cool, new, urban nostalgic exchange experience shop. A step above a thrift store, Deja Voo offers sustainable shopping threads that never go out of style. Deja Voo challenges what it means to have already seen. Who says preloved clothing is outdated? At Deja Voo fashion is in the eye of the beholder and everything you see is stylish.

Deja Voo is for those who dare to dress. The divergent thinkers, the uniquely stylish, and the forever young. Deja Voo understands personal style knows no bounds and shouldn’t be tied down to popular trends, time periods, or left unseen in the back of someone’s closet. Fashion with a purpose, Deja Voo takes great pride in reducing fashion waste and looking good while doing it.

What elevates this project was my choice to build the concept around the literal feeling of experiencing Deja Vu. Fleeting yet nostalgic, Deja Vu is the only time where we as humans are making the unconscious decision to live in the moment and feel like we’ve already lived it.

How do you illustrate a feeling? The feeling of Deja Vu is completely abstract and unique to every individual. 

The brand mark is strategically placed over the subject of most of the pictures to symbolize this out of body experience, or transient thought. Collaging was a big aspect of this project, it was the perfect way to repurpose the individual elements of old polaroid pictures and new digital graphics as something new.

Focusing on the worn texture of pre-worn clothes (rips, tears, stickers, and added grain) to the design elements helped give the thrift shopping theme an edgy feel. Retro pictures met with a psychedelic color palette created an element of fun and spontaneity that would entice shoppers to live in the moment.
