Project Description
Roomly is a concept platform designed to simplify short-term stays and travel logistics within Abuja, Nigeria. Inspired by Booking.com, Roomly allows users to seamlessly book hotels, Airbnbs, resorts, and car rentals all from one intuitive platform built with a local-first mindset.
This was a self-initiated case study to demonstrate how global hospitality experiences can be localized to solve real pain points within Nigerian cities, starting with Abuja.
Challenges Faced:
Users typically had to juggle between multiple apps/websites to find verified stays and rentals in Abuja.
Most global platforms miss cultural nuances, local pricing structures, or community-trusted locations.
Users often complained of scams, inaccurate listings, or unfulfilled bookings.
Solutions Implemented:
Designed a centralized hub with easy access to hotels, homestays, resorts, and car rentals.
Focused on trust and credibility by designing filters for verified listings and user reviews.
Developed a clean and responsive UI/UX framework with local relevance in mind.
Introduced a location-based booking feature tailored for Abuja’s most visited districts and hotspots.
