The brief
RAMU by Umar is a fine dining restaurant that reimagines the art of dining through a balance of authenticity and sophistication. The concept draws inspiration from traditional seafood markets and European culinary heritage, reinterpreted through a lens of contemporary elegance.
The goal was to design a visual identity and brand materials that capture this duality, a space where old-world charm meets modern refinement. The brand had to feel both luxurious and grounded, exclusive yet welcoming, setting the tone for a truly elevated dining experience.
The design
The identity system merges tradition and modernity through expressive typography and understated elegance. The logotype, built on a distinctive serif with sculptural character, evokes heritage and craftsmanship, while its sharp rhythm and clean geometry bring a contemporary edge.
A muted yet confident color palette, inspired by the sea, natural textures, and fine materials, complements the tactile simplicity of the printed materials. Illustrations of oysters, champagne glasses, and culinary elements subtly nod to RAMU’s roots in artisanal gastronomy.
Together, these elements create a cohesive visual world that feels both timeless and current, a refined reflection of RAMU’s philosophy: elevated dining with a soul.
