Café Shift and Overtime Tracker on Base44 (demo)

Task. A small café needs to track shifts and pay overtime correctly without spreadsheets passed around by hand. This is a demo for a fictional team, built on Base44.

Solution. Staff log shifts with unpaid breaks, and night shifts count on the day they start. Overtime starts after 40 hours a week at 1.5x. The app shows pay before taxes for each employee and for the team, with a two-week pay period view and CSV export. Employees see only their own shifts, and a read-only demo view opens without signing in.

How I built it. I wrote the full spec first: entities and fields, who sees what, seed data and a demo label. I checked Base44's plan against it before building, then checked the pay maths by hand. In the sample week, 40 hours plus 2 overtime hours at $21 an hour comes to $903.
