'Torta Rota': Full Website Redesign from Scratch on Framer

Overview

Torta Rota is an artisanal bakery and coffe based in Ramos Mejía, Argentina, known for homemade cakes, brunch, lunch, and sweet & savory treats, as well as catering and online orders. Their previous website, built in 2020, had become outdated both visually and structurally.
At Keggel, we redesigned the entire site from the ground up using Framer, keeping all existing information while completely modernizing the visual identity, content structure, and user experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Project Goal

Refresh and modernize the brand’s online presence without losing valuable content from the original website.
Improve navigation, hierarchy, and content organization (menu items, online store, catering, contact).
Create a warm, polished aesthetic aligned with the handcrafted identity of the bakery.
Build a fully responsive and scalable site in Framer.

The Challenge

Torta Rota’s old website had several issues:
❌ Outdated look & feel that didn’t represent the quality of the products.
❌ Scattered navigation with duplicated or hard-to-find information.
❌ No clear hierarchy for key actions like menu viewing, placing orders, or contacting the business.
❌ Non-optimized mobile layout and inconsistent user flow.
The goal was to rebuild the website from zero—fresh, modern, and intuitive—while respecting all content from the original site.

Process

1. Content & UX Audit

I mapped out the entire old website to understand what worked, what needed restructuring, and which information users actually looked for. This allowed me to reorganize the content without losing anything important.

2. Information Architecture

I created a new structure based on clarity and usability:
Home
Menu
Online Store
Catering
About Us
Contact
This simplified the navigation and ensured users could reach key sections in fewer steps.

3. Visual Design

The design direction aimed to mirror the brand’s artisanal identity while giving it a modern, premium feel:
Warm color palette and depth through soft shadows
Strong imagery showcasing products
Clean typography to improve readability
Modern card layout for services (menu, online store, catering)

4. Build in Framer

Using Framer allowed for:
Smooth interactions and micro-animations
Scalable component-based structure
Pixel-perfect responsive design across all breakpoints
Easy future editing for the client (menu updates, images, promos)

5. QA & Final Adjustments

I tested the site on multiple devices, optimized images, refined micro-interactions, and ensured all content from the old site was accurately preserved and improved.
