Grew a job platform / two-sided marketplace to 5,000 monthly visitors, 20,000 pageviews and average 20 to 80 job applications per job. Here are some key initiatives I took that bring candidate traffic every month:
Automated daily postings on Linkedin, Twitter and Reddit. Grew to 4,000+ highly targeted audiences on Linkedin.
Designed an SEO-friendly website using Figma and collaborated with a developer, launched programmatic SEO pages, and wrote content.
Designed and shipped several features, including lead generation from the admin system to send daily emails, job alerts, and automated emails. A new flywheel that bring me the second side of the marketplace: recruiters.
Implemented AI to automate, and improve the job scraping, summarizing process (going from spending 15 hours to 1hours on specific tasks)
Integrated with key partners (ATS) such as Ashby and Join to share relevant jobs and advertise job platform to recruiters!
Building a job platform is an excellent way to learn about your ICP, identify how to reach them, and experiment with marketing channels until something works. Next step is identifying how to provide enough value to convert them well (+ design conversion experiments).
