The project was to re-design their existing logo for both print and web. The logo is primarily used on social media and for events to help promote the rescuing and re-homing of horses.

The old logo was outdated and did not work well on printed materials due to its non-transparent background. There was also no established hierarchy within the text for the company name and tagline. The horse silhouette was also seen as too “clip art-y.”

I created a moodboard for inspiration. This included photos of horses in different poses and angles to get a better sense of the horse’s shape and movement. I also created a color palette from the images.

I created a number of different logo concepts so the client had options. I played around with different styles such as outlines vs. fills. Overall, I wanted the logo to feel friendly and approachable.

The client decided to go with the last concept. They felt showing the top of the horse in motion best represented their brand. After a few minor tweaks, the text was placed tucked underneath the horse’s shoulder. The design is minimal, yet showcases the horse in a powerful stance.

I created a website design for the client. This is a landing page design that showcases the horses that are available to adopt along with a button to allow users to donate to the non-profit.

The logo is displayed on social media (Instagram and Facebook). I created templates for the Equine Rescue Resource Instagram posts to showcase news, updates, and information on which horses are available for adoption.
