The Day After
Exhibition Identity for Islamabad Literature Festival Twelve artists. One institution. Two worlds : a print and digital identity for 12 Pakistani artists at ILF 2023.
Overview A collective exhibition needed one identity to hold twelve distinct artistic voices together without flattening any of them, spanning print catalogue, signage, and gallery collateral.
Role & Details Exhibition Identity, Print, Signage, Catalogue Design Freelance, 2023 - Commissioned via BNU-SVAD Role: Lead Designer
Problem Twelve artists, one institution, and no shared visual language to unify them for public exhibition; each artist's work risked competing rather than cohering under one identity.
Insight Fatima Hussain's work was already a poster. The palette was already on the canvas; the identity was built by extracting from the art itself rather than imposing an external system.
Concept "The Day After" is a title and mood drawn directly from the exhibited work, translated into a navy-and-red identity system that reads as bold, editorial, and gallery-appropriate.
Execution Colour: deep navy with a sharp red accent extracted from the artists' own palette. Formats: one identity system applied across catalogue, posters, social media, and signage; same origin, five formats, no compromise.
Outcome Exhibited at ILF 2023, presenting twelve Pakistani artists under one cohesive visual identity across every campaign touchpoint.
