What is Mutant Last Stand?

Mutant Last Stand is a game jam project made for GameDev.TV 2024 game jam! Play as a mutant subject as you fight against endless waves of respawning soldiers. You may go down but you are not going down without a fight!

Gameplay

The gameplay of Mutant Last Stand is a third-person action wave game. From a behind-the-back camera angle, you control the mutant with mouse and keyboard. WASD for movement, spacebar to jump, and moving the mouse to move camera. With using LMB and RMB, you can do a melee attack to attack enemies, who will go down on one hit. The enemies will try to move, aim, and fire to take your Health down to Zero. The waves are endless so the goal is try and stay alive for as long as possible.

Closing Remarks

Using Unreal Engine, Mutant Last Stand was one of my interesting projects as I experimented with melee combat and enemy AI within Unreal. While it did took a bit, it was a fun and powerful learning experience that makes me feel more confident to provide gameplay programming with Unreal Engine.
