"How can we optimize the food storage system and develop a tagging system to track and monitor food efficiently?"
Problem: The INN does not have an efficient procedure for tracking and storing the food that they receive as donations. The food that comes in and out of the system is tracked inefficiently and stored using an unorganized shelving system.
My Role:
-Prototyped consumer-facing digital product to track food inventory using Figma
-Responsible for interface design, user flow mapping, and overall user experience
-Designed all pages (landing to end) of the app focusing on the storage and warehouse layout to locate and store inventory
-Designed wireframes using Balsamiq and Miro to storyboard in order to optimize tracking and storing inventory
-Deployed efficient systems to integrate technology and information to achieve optimal processes
-Improved workstation safety and ergonomics
End Result: Complete storage layout design and functioning mobile application prototype that will sort the inventory by type of food, quantity, size, and expiration date to easily access inventory for storage and meal preparations.
Benefit: This will allow the INN to quickly add or deduct food from a categorized digital inventory log and state where to find their desired food in the storage layout.
