Alex is a custom home builder based in Georgia. He needed a portfolio site that could showcase his homes in a way that felt elegant, modern, and image-driven. This wasn't about selling through copy or calls to action—it was about presenting his work like a high-end catalog.
Client's Need/Problem
Alex wanted a clean, professional site that put his photography front and center. No fluff, no clutter. Just a beautiful, functional place where potential clients could browse his homes and get a feel for his craftsmanship.
Start of Collaboration
We kicked off with just a logo and a loose color palette. His taste leaned toward quiet sophistication, so I aimed for something modern, minimal, and premium-feeling.

Hero Section
From the start, I knew the images needed to do the heavy lifting. I kept the hero section bold and full-bleed, letting the photography speak for itself.
Initial Assets or Direction
Aside from the logo and some color cues, there wasn't much to start with. But Alex's preferences for elegance and simplicity gave me enough direction to begin designing.
Your Initial Thinking
I wanted this site to feel like a coffee table book online. Minimal text, lots of breathing room, and a typography system that felt elevated but not fussy. I paired Inter with Abhaya Libre to give it a modern yet timeless feel.

Page Design and Aesthetic
The design leaned heavily on white space and minimal color so that the homes could shine. The CMS structure meant the portfolio could grow over time without breaking the design. I also made sure the menu dropdown and footer links would automatically update as new portfolio pages were added—a small detail that keeps things effortless for Alex.
Focus Areas and Design Choices
Typography: Inter + Abhaya Libre
Minimal color usage to let photography stand out
Full-width imagery
Light CMS for easy updating
Automatic navigation link updates
Design Evolution
We started with a wireframe and then I mocked up two high-fidelity options in Figma. Alex chose the first one with almost no changes, which made the handoff to Webflow pretty seamless.
Client Feedback
Alex was very happy with the final site. He only requested minor edits to the copy, but the overall design hit the mark right away.
Duration
The entire project—from concept to live build—took under two weeks.
