South Lake Ottey Centre is a community hub located in South Lake, Western Australia. It is a vibrant, inclusive and friendly environment that provides activities and information for residents in the area. They welcome people from all ages but primarily focuses on older adults. As many community services, they had minimal staff handling communications and were in need of a new identity to replace the painting previously used as their symbol.

As part of the DropIN team, my role involved designing the logo, brand guidelines as well as the website layout. Accessibility was key, and the design needed to communicate that the center is safe, inclusive, supportive, and multicultural. It needed to embody the staff’s vision of a "happy place.” The website was supposed to clearly show features like activities, room bookings, membership and emergency relief.

The logo featured a vibrant typographic design resembling a house, with an emphasis on the founder's name, Ottey. The previous name “South Lake Ottey Family and Neighborhood Centre” was simplified, making the branding more adaptable. The website followed the brand's vibrant color scheme and blocky design to echo the logo’s structure. The client was pleased with the final result, noting how well it captured the center's essence.
