Explore the Most Popular Travel Destinations Among Americans

There has never been a better time to pack your bags and explore a new and exciting location. From the ornate architecture of Parisian palaces to the jagged mountains of Southeastern Europe or the colorful streets of Mexico, plenty of places are left to explore.
Here are a few locations making it onto the travel bucket lists of many American travelers.

Paris

The city of love. Home to iconic sites like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Musée du Louvre, and the Arc de Triomphe, it is no wonder millions of tourists visit every year. While those locations are beautiful in their own right, here are a few more unique places to add to your itinerary.

Champs-Élysées

Champs-Élysées is known as "the world's most beautiful avenue." This neighborhood never rests and is home to grand embassies and presidential palaces. Surrounded by 19th-century architecture, stroll down the picturesque vista and visit some of the city's most celebrated monuments and squares. Punctuated at one end by the Arc de Triomphe, explore Paris' most famous avenue and some of its iconic sites.

Musée d'Orsay

The Musee d'Orsay is one of the most famous museums in the world and stores a vast collection of Impressionist paintings from well-known artists, including Monet and Renoir. This former rail station is now home to some of the most beautiful works of art ever created and is waiting for you to wander its galleries.

Luxembourg Gardens (Jardin du Luxembourg)

The Luxembourg Gardens began being built in 1612. It is known for its vast lawns, tennis courts, tree-lined promenades, lush flower beds, Grand Basin full of model sailboats, and the Italian-influenced Medici Fountain. The park is the most centric and popular in Paris and is perfect for taking a quaint stroll or visiting the greenhouses on the property.

Montenegro

Located in the mountains of Southeastern Europe, along the Adriatic Sea, is the tiny nation of Montenegro. Dotted with medieval villages and a narrow strip of beaches along its coastline, Montenegro is becoming a hot travel destination for many. With sites like Sveti Stefan, Budva Old Town, and Durdevica Tara Bridge, this tiny European nation has many things to do and see.

Tara Canyon

Known as Europe's "Grand Canyon," Tara Canyon is Europe's deepest gorge. Perfect for adrenaline lovers looking to go white water rafting or those looking to take in the beautiful scenery of Southeastern Europe, Tara Canyon is one of the most breathtaking locations in the country.

Kotor Old Town & Bay of Kotor

Wedged between the mountains in the corner of a secluded bay on the Adriatic Sea sits the old Meditteranean town of Kotor. Full of stunning architecture and charm, the fortified city of Kotor has been deemed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Mexico City

Perfect for a 3-4 day visit on your next trip to Mexico, Mexico City boasts a rich culture and a street food scene that is hard to beat. Enjoy Mexico's vibrant culture and explore the beautiful city streets in this dynamic city.

Visit the Zocalo

Visit the Zocalo, or main square, of Mexico City, where many festivals, concerts, and other cultural events are held. From art festivals to parades, this is truly the heart of the historical district in Mexico City. Also, visit some of the best restaurants in the country and gaze at the striking architecture at Mexico's most visited location.

Teotihuacan

About an hour outside of Mexico City is the site of the most architecturally essential Mesoamerican pyramids, Teotihuacan. At Teotihuacan, see the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon as you explore some of the most stunning remains of the once-great Aztec empire.
With the rise of remote work, it is no wonder many Americans are deciding to pack their bags for a new adventure. There are many exciting things to see and do in locations worldwide waiting for you to visit them yourself.
