Today,
Today, I practiced Apollo.io Workflows, focusing on how automation can help organize contacts and connect lead management with outreach.
I started with workflow triggers — the events that initiate an automation.
I explored:
✅ Contact saved or created
Understanding how a workflow can begin when a new contact enters Apollo.
✅ Contact updated
Learning how changes to an existing contact can trigger another automated process.
Next, I practiced setting enrollment criteria to control which contacts are allowed into the workflow.
For this exercise, I used:
📌 Email Status → Verified
This helped me understand how filtering conditions can be used to make sure only contacts that meet specific requirements continue through an automation.
I also explored workflow actions such as:
🔹 Enrich data — improving contact records by filling in available missing information.
🔹 Add contacts to sequence — connecting qualified contacts to an outreach sequence for follow-up.
The biggest lesson for me was understanding the logic behind the workflow:
Trigger → Criteria → Action → Outreach
I also navigated the workflow builder from start to finish using only my phone.
This was practical learning, not just theory. I’m continuing to build my Apollo.io skills by practicing each feature and understanding how it can be applied to real lead-generation and sales workflows.
