Design System Development

Stormi Capital is a music distribution platform built for independent labels, distributors, and professional artists who demand full control over their work — without compromising their rights.

While Stormi Capital already has a strong social and digital presence, this hadn't consistently translated into the web app. I joined Stormi Capital to build and establish a design system that would bridge the gap between design and development, and maintain a cohesive, consistent visual experience across the product.

Without a design system, the design and development teams faced several key challenges:

Inconsistent UI components across the product

Inconsistent spacing and grid system

Lack of defined brand color, typography, and asset guidelines

As with most design systems, we followed a simple and universal approach: atomic design — building from small, foundational components up to larger, more complex ones. To get started, we identified four core screens of the web app and built the component library around them, establishing the main building blocks that would be used consistently throughout the platform.
