Using localised SEO strategies to grow a large business

This client was a medium-large business, competing for national keywords with some industry giants. Though they were a large company, they didn't have much authority compared to the real market leaders.
I came up with a strategy to target local multiple local areas that they operated in, rather than competing for national keywords across the UK. This involved conducting thorough keyword research to find local terms people were searching for in their area, and cross referencing this with where my client could deliver their service best.
We then came up with a list of new pages landing pages to create, as well as pages we needed to re-focus and optimise slightly differently. The cross-reference gave us a good indication on which pages to prioritise first.
I wrote SEO optimised content for all new pages, and optimised the content and technical aspects of existing, underperforming pages.
This project led to a result of a 55% increase in traffic over a 6 month period.
