We deliver yum yum delights from our innovative menu in terracotta and glass pots protected in our unique multilayer sustainable packaging.

About Pot Pot Yum Yum Indian Delivery: Pot Pot celebrates the various kinds of sustainable pots found in Indian households and the process of making, packaging, delivering, serving and ultimately, feasting on the food.

From the cooking pots which are the vessels the food is cooked in, the serving pots - our terracotta and glass pots, the potlis in which our chaat is packaged, pottery is the art used to make our terracotta pots, the potholes the delivery riders go through while delivering the food, to a potluck of delicious food!

Why We Chose Sustainability: Approximately 15,000 MT of plastic waste is generated by India on a daily basis. Only a small

portion of it is recycled, the rest may not biodegrade for another 200 years until something changes.

In light of these dire consequences, the government has advocated for phasing out single- use plastics by 2022. We wholeheartedly support this initiative. Sustainability is at the core of Pot Pot.

We have ensured that our packaging is easy to recycle and upcycle, from our glass and terracotta pots to our paper bags and cardboard boxes. This was no easy feat. We spent months developing our packaging. Everything was carefully curated and designed with a sustainability first approach.

Packaging Materials: Our packaging is as interesting as our diverse, distinguished and eclectic menu.

Our crispy and scrumptious chaat arrives in cloth potlis (bundle)! A tiered DIY kit is unraveled from the potli with a crunchy dry base in a cardboard box, slurpy yummy dips and dressing in glass pots. Assembling it is a fun activity for the customers.

Staying true to our traditional roots, we chose to use terracotta pots for our Small Pots which includes appetisers like creamy, tender Malai Broccoli and succulent, spicy Miso Masala Fish with the exception of kakori and kathi rolls that are sent in sugarcane pulp containers. Our velvety Not-Your-Nani’s Biryani with fragrant rice and hearty Prawn Curry and other Large Rice Pots are packaged in beautifully terracotta pots.

Our delicious mains Beetroot Ishtoo, Haleem 2.0 and more yummy Main Pots come in glass jars. Our silky Sweet Pots filled with Walnut Halwa, Potted Phirnee and more also arrive in glass pots. All glass pots have aluminium lids. All products come with paper tags. All orders are sent out with aluminium cutlery. These decadent delights are then delivered in a canvas tote bag.

It was imperative that all materials used in our packaging are highly recyclable. Paper and cardboard are reusable, recyclable and biodegradable. Aluminium is one of the most sustainable materials available. Glass is made of abundantly available raw materials. In fact, glass and terracotta can be recycled in a close loop over and over again in a resource- efficient manner.

Our sugarcane pulp containers are made from agri-residue in a resource-efficient manner and can be composted in sixty days and become part of the soil again. Canvas is a renewable resource and bags made of it are sturdy enough to stand up to years of use and decomposable making it an ideal alternative to plastic bags. Unlike plastic, we would not find these materials littering our cities and water bodies.

We try our best to source products from companies who have the same sustainability ethic that we do.

Added Benefits of Sustainable Packaging: Another aspect we had to consider when developing the right packaging was that it should help the food packaged remain fresh and flavourful.

Glass preserves taste and vitamins. As an inert material, it guarantees that food and beverages placed in glass containers are not stained by the packaging. Glass jars contain no chemicals that can leach into food, unlike plastic.

Our sugarcane pulp containers have no toxins, no aroma migration.

Earthenware had always been an intrinsic part of Indian households, in fact, terracotta utensils have been prevalent from the prehistoric ages and have been found in the ruins of the Indus Valley Civilisation. Terracotta brings out the right flavours of the dishes. Not just that, it adds beneficial nutrients like calcium, phosphorous, iron, magnesium and sulfur to food. The alkaline nature of the terracotta neutralizes the acidity in the food, which makes it easier to digest.

Upcycling Pot Pot’s Packaging: There are endless possibilities to upcycle our packaging. We strongly believe that packaging can have purpose instead of being destined for a landfill. The packaging is sturdy and aesthetic, making it easy to upcycle.

Of course, our cutlery can be used for years.

The sugarcane pulp containers can be used to store food as they can be placed inside a microwave or even frozen.

The glass pots are ideal for storing potpourri, pencils and other stationary. It is even a great alternative to plastic or tupperware when packing food for friends and family.

The terracotta pots make for great planters.

What Lies Ahead: We are constantly looking for more ways to continue our path to sustainability.

We aspire to start a recycling program for our customers in the near future which will allow them to dispose of packaging to us.

We also want to challenge our customers creatively and reward them for the innovative ways they repurpose our packaging.
