Project Overview: AI Inventory Assistant – SaaS Web Design Challenge

Role: UX/UI Designer Project Type: Design Challenge (SaaS, AI Productivity Tool) Platform: Web (Responsive, Desktop-first) Tools Used: Figma, FigJam
Project Summary
This project is a conceptual UI/UX design for a SaaS AI platform that helps small business owners and e-commerce operators generate accurate, real-time spreadsheets and inventory checklists without needing advanced Excel skills.
The goal was to streamline data organization using AI prompts, allowing users to upload, generate, and manage their stock and supply data with just a few inputs. The platform combines automation, simplicity, and beautiful UI for maximum usability.

Design Goals

Minimize Manual Input: Eliminate the need to manually build complex inventory sheets.
Make AI Feel Human: Give the AI a friendly and professional tone while maintaining trust.
Design for Efficiency: Focus on speed, clarity, and reducing user friction from upload to export.
Accessible, Visual Experience: Ensure the platform is inclusive, modern, and responsive.

UX Process Breakdown

🧠 Research & Ideation
Reviewed tools like Airtable, Notion AI, and Sheet AI
Identified pain points for small business users: manual input, formula confusion, outdated spreadsheets
Created 2 primary user personas:
E-commerce store owner
Inventory manager for a small warehouse
🎨 Visual Language
Typeface: DM Sans for body, Inter for headings
Color palette: Neutral dark UI with green and teal accents to highlight AI features
UI tone: Clean, professional, futuristic (but not overly technical)
Results & Reflections
This challenge pushed me to think deeply about designing for automation + simplicity, and how AI products should feel intuitive, not intimidating. I focused heavily on layout clarity, hierarchy of actions, and making the experience feel effortless, especially for users without data or spreadsheet expertise.
It’s a project I would love to expand into a full product someday with onboarding flows, real user testing, and adaptive AI response states.
