Overview

PayIQ is an AI-powered money app for Nigerians. One app handles transfers to any bank, airtime, data and bills, savings goals, Ajo (rotating group savings) and naira virtual cards — and Ibra, an AI assistant you can type or talk to in English or Pidgin, explains your spending and prepares payments for you to confirm.
Ahead of launch on Android and iOS, PayIQ needed a website that could introduce a new kind of fintech to a market that is cautious about both new money apps and AI — and turn that curiosity into waitlist sign-ups.

The challenge

Explain a lot of product without overwhelming. Payments, bills, savings, Ajo, cards, an AI assistant, and two audiences (personal and business).
Make the AI feel useful, not hyped. Ibra had to come across as a helpful friend who knows your money, not a chatbot gimmick.
Earn trust before the app exists. Nigerians ask "is my money safe?" and "what if my phone is stolen?" before anything else.
Speak to real life. The site needed to feel Nigerian — naira, DStv, Detty December, Ajo — not like a template with the currency swapped.
Convert to a waitlist. Every section had to lead back to one action.

What I built

Home (/): the personal-use landing page.
Business (/business): a second full landing page. It covers invoices, payroll, books, spend controls and team cards; Ibra’s business features (“Who owes you?”, invoice drafts, a Monday briefing); a storefront for shops and restaurants; three pricing tiers (Free, Business and Scale); team controls (roles, approvals, audit log, 2FA); and a business onboarding flow and waitlist.
About: the mission, who PayIQ is for, its values, and the two products side by side.
Security: organised around your money, your phone, your data, and protections for businesses, plus a way to report security issues.
Contact: a form that routes questions by topic, with spam protection.
Under the hood
Developed in Next.js, responsive from phone to desktop, with dark mode and scroll-triggered motion.
A shared component system: the Ibra, Smart help, onboarding steps, FAQ and waitlist sections are reused across Home and Business with different content. A third product page could be added without new design work.
A CMS (/admin) so the PayIQ team can update content without a developer.
SEO basics: page titles, a sitemap and robots rules.
Instrument Sans throughout, the same typeface as the app, so the site and the product feel like one brand.

Results
