Visual Identity & Graphic Strategy for Simbolica
This project involved the creation and development of the initial visual identity for Simbolica, an interdisciplinary research group composed of colombian architects and researchers dedicated to the critical analysis of architecture, city, and culture through the lens of Semiotics (the Philosophy of Signs).
My Dual Role: From Researcher to Designer
My participation in the collective was strategically twofold. In addition to contributing actively as a Researcher in the conceptual analyses, I was responsible for translating the philosophical and academic complexity of the collective into a cohesive and legible graphic image.
 - The main challenge was designing a visual system that would:
 - Reflect the seriousness and rigor of the group's research.
 - Visually communicate the semiotic concepts of sign, structure, and deconstruction.
 - Be scalable and adaptable across various digital formats.
Concept and Identity Development
The identity was built upon the idea of structure and process. The design of the logotype is the central piece, aiming to symbolize the complexity and changable nature of cities and culture, and our attempt to leave a record of these events.
Key Graphic Materials Developed:
 - Primary Logotype and Variations: Designed a functional isotype/logomark representing the collective's theoretical focus.
 - Brand Identity Guidelines: Defined color palettes and typographies that balance academic rigor with a contemporary aesthetic.
 - Promotional Assets: Created posters and promotional images for events, conferences, and research calls.
 - Core Digital Elements: Designed social media banners and graphic elements for the YouTube channel (thumbnails, intros, and outros and video editing), ensuring a unified and professional digital presence.
This project successfully established the visual foundation for an ongoing research platform, demonstrating the ability to transform high-level theoretical concepts into effective graphic communication tools.
