Violet Defense Goes to School

Violet Defense Innovation Put To The Test For An Ottawa Public School District Evaluation

[Ottawa, Kansas, 06/Mar/2021] - Violet Defense is teaming up with Ottawa Public Schools in Kansas for an evaluation plan where Violet Defense will provide the district with a variety of mobile products for a disinfection evaluation and feedback. Some of the products being used in the test include the Flash M3, sports decon case, and Beam mobile unit to demo in the school system.

The company is pairing with Ottawa to thoroughly assess their technology in highly-trafficked areas, study new techniques and settings for their equipment, and purpose-fit solutions for school environments. As the world begins returning to "normal" during the COVID-19 pandemic, schools are no exception, as many have opened their doors for returning students, staff, and faculty.

While the necessity to reopen schools is a point of debate for many, all people can agree that protecting the students, staff, and faculty is a priority. Enter Violet Defense.

For the assessment, Violet Defense and the Ottawa, Kansas school district will utilize two math classrooms; one will have Violet Defense's disinfection UV equipment, and the other will not (this room will act as the control group). The company and the school district will be conducting the experiment with bathrooms as well, some will have UV-disinfecting lights, and some will not. During the analysis, the nurses' clinic will have equipment installed for the students, staff, and faculty's health and safety.

With this scientific structure, data will show the effectiveness of the UV cleansing capabilities versus natural germ progression and chemical-based cleaning methods.

"We are proud to support Violet Defense's work as part of the clean sweep in the Ottawa Public School District Evaluation," said Ottawa Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs. "Ottawa USD 290 and Violet Defense initiated the partnership opportunity to help recognize solutions to discuss the demand for accelerated decontamination and disinfection of classrooms and enclosed spaces in our schools and other learning-ready environments."

This endeavor is a significant step forward for the school district in terms of innovation and forward-thinking methods. Depending on the Ottawa public school district evaluation outcome, it could mean a safer return to classrooms, not only during COVID but also for generations to come.

"Our aim as a business has forever remained to help defend the communities where adults and children reside, work, study, and play by equipping clinical level disinfection from deadly pathogens at a cost-effective price point. This is exceedingly important while in this pandemic, as students and teachers try to determine safe techniques to return some normalcy to our schools," said Terrance Berland, Chairman and CEO of Violet Defense.

If the evaluation does lead to an enduring partnership between the school district and the firm, could it lead to increased budget concerns to keep the students and faculty safe?

"This latest testing validates that our devices are some of the most potent and efficient UV products on the market today given their size (some products are smaller than a textbook) and cost-effectiveness (costs to operate the devices are less than $1 per disinfection cycle) and should be perfect for USD 290," added Berland.

But Wait, Who is Violet Defense?

Violet Defense is a progressive UV and Violet light technology firm using its patented germ-fighting systems to eliminate pathogens that can pose a threat to peoples' health and safety.

Violet Defense's technology is the only recognized Pulsed Xenon solution that can be placed into a room permanently, which creates a constant way to meet disinfection demands of all types of settings, including museums, sports venues, healthcare clinics, hospitals, theaters, libraries, mass transit, ambulances, hotels, law enforcement, first responder stations, NBA's Orlando Magic's offices and venues, robotic devices, and schools.

How does Violet Defense UV-disinfection work?

Wherever the equipment is placed or installed in a room, the patented UV and Violet Light disinfection technology defend common spaces by killing up to 99.9 percent of viruses and bacteria, such as E. coli and Salmonella MRSA, C. diff., Norovirus, C. Auris, and COVID-19. Here is the exciting part, the system renders a 30-minute disinfection cycle that functions autonomously. This technology enables businesses, and hopefully schools pending the outcome of the evaluation, to work safely at all moments of the day and not have to take time out of the day to wipe down surfaces and spray the air.

In addition to large setups, such as those suitable for larger spaces like schools, Violet Defense also produces more petite, mobile options. The smaller devices still bring the powerful Pulsed Xenon technology to any space requiring disinfection, such as the S.A.G.E. UV Micro; this product is one of the most effective and efficient UV disinfecting offerings on the market. S.A.G.E. UV Micro can sanitize the surfaces and air in a 10'x10' room, while its more significant equivalent, the S.A.G.E. UV Whole Room Unit, can purify 15'x15' spaces.
