Overview DigiTapes is a UK-based media digitisation service that helps people preserve their memories by converting old videotapes, audio recordings, cine films, DVDs, and other physical media into modern digital formats.

I designed the complete website experience in Figma and developed it on Shopify, creating an e-commerce experience that makes an unfamiliar and technical service feel simple, trustworthy, and easy to use.

The Challenge

Digitising old media isn't something most people do every day.

Customers arrive with different tape formats, quantities, and delivery preferences and many may not even know what type of media they have.

The challenge was to take all of these options and turn them into a shopping experience that feels clear rather than complicated.

The website needed to help customers quickly understand the service, find the right conversion option, configure their order, and confidently send something as valuable as their personal memories to DigiTapes.

What I Did

I designed the website from the ground up in Figma, focusing on a clear visual hierarchy, intuitive navigation, and an approachable shopping experience.

Instead of treating DigiTapes like a traditional product store, I designed the experience around the customer's journey from identifying their media and choosing a conversion service to configuring their order and understanding what happens next.

I then brought the designs to life in Shopify, building responsive pages and reusable sections while making sure the experience stayed consistent across desktop and mobile. The result combines the flexibility of Shopify with a custom experience tailored specifically to DigiTapes' service.

Result

The final website turns a potentially confusing digitisation process into a simple, approachable e-commerce journey.

Customers can easily understand what DigiTapes does, discover the right service for their media, configure their conversion, and place an order with confidence.

More importantly, the new experience puts the real value of DigiTapes front and centre:

It's not really about converting tapes. It's about making old memories accessible again.
