Challenge
Maya Lynne Adar is a multidisciplinary creative who works across graphic design, web design, and diverse artistic fields. She wanted a digital portfolio that didn’t just display her work, but also expressed her playful, experimental spirit. The challenge was to design a site that balanced artistic freedom with usability, while giving visitors a sense of her process, personality, and creativity.

Discovery & Direction
Defined Maya’s portfolio not just as a showcase, but as an interactive art piece that reflects her identity.
Decided to build moments of surprise and playfulness to differentiate her from traditional portfolio sites.
Concept & Wireframing
Planned a modular CMS structure so she could update projects and artworks easily.
Sketched playful elements like the “Roll the Dice” interaction, which allows visitors to reshuffle content, inviting them to “become the designer.”
Visual & Interactive Design
Created vivid layouts and motion graphics that echo her multidisciplinary artistry.
Layered custom CSS elements for unique typographic and visual treatments.
Building in Wix Studio & Velo
Leveraged Wix Studio for responsive layouts and advanced animation controls.
Implemented the Roll the Dice feature with Velo (custom code) to deliver a dynamic, randomized browsing experience.
Integrated custom menus to help users explore projects without losing the playful flow.
Testing & Refinement
