Challenge
The Wix Studio Visual Innovation Team wanted to showcase the newly developed Mouse Parallax Effects in a way that felt immersive, playful, and inspiring. The challenge was to demonstrate the feature’s creative potential while maintaining a high-quality, responsive user experience. The concept needed to capture the imagination while serving as a technical demonstration of what the parallax tool could achieve.
Creative Process
Discovery & Conceptualization
Drew inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, a story rich in fantasy, illusion, and layered experiences.
Established the idea of leading users “through the rabbit hole” with interactive, depth-driven visuals.
Visual Design
Designed multi-layered graphics and illustrations to maximize the parallax effect.
Built a color and typography scheme that enhanced the surreal, whimsical storytelling.
Interaction & Animation Planning
Defined cursor-driven movements for background, midground, and foreground layers.
Balanced motion speed and sensitivity to create depth without distraction.
Building in Wix Studio
Used Wix Studio’s Mouse Parallax feature to bring layered visuals to life.
Applied scroll and hover animations to enhance storytelling moments.
Optimized performance to ensure smooth, responsive motion across devices.
Testing & Refinement
Adjusted interaction depth and movement scale based on user feedback.
Ensured graceful fallback on devices without mouse input (e.g. mobile and touchscreens).
Solution
The final landing page is a visual illusion experience where every cursor movement reveals new depth. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the site demonstrates the creative possibilities of Mouse Parallax Effects while telling a story. It functions as both a showcase of innovation and an artistic experience, highlighting how design and technology merge in Wix Studio.
