Normie AI – Smart Task Automation with UX-Driven Design

This project showcases the design of Normie AI, a smart task automation interface built to help users streamline repetitive workflows using intelligent automation. The core goal was to balance robust AI capabilities with a clear, human-centered experience — making automation feel accessible, transparent, and empowering for users of all skill levels.

Unlike traditional automation tools that expose complexity upfront, Normie AI focuses on:

Clarity in presenting automated actions

Guided interaction flows that reduce cognitive load

Predictable UI patterns that build user confidence

The redesign process began with understanding how users approach task automation: challenges with starting automations, understanding results, and managing exceptions. Based on these insights, the system was structured around three foundational principles:

1. Intuitive Onboarding & Workflow Discovery Users are guided through automation setup with clear contextual prompts, minimizing confusion and lowering the barrier to entry.

2. Purposeful Use of Space & Information Hierarchy Spacing decisions were intentional — white space wasn’t decorative but functional, used to group related elements, reinforce hierarchy, and improve scanning efficiency. This allowed dense information to be presented in a way that feels calm, clear, and navigable.

3. Predictable UI Patterns for Trust & Control Consistent controls, clear labels, and visual feedback help users understand what’s happening at every step — from setup to execution to results — reducing fear around “letting the system run on its own.”

Typography, color accents, and modular components were calibrated to highlight status, progression, and key actions without overwhelming the user. Components are reusable and coherent, supporting scalability across screens and tasks.

The result is a smart task automation experience that feels intuitive, empowering, and trustworthy — letting users focus on meaningful work while AI handles repetitive tasks.

For the Normie platform created through Super Agency, I led the UI/UX design to craft a cohesive and modern SaaS experience tailored to complex user needs. The objective was to simplify key workflows and present multi-layered data in a way that supports clarity, efficiency, and confidence across both novice and experienced users. Throughout the process, the focus remained on establishing a strong information hierarchy, reducing cognitive strain, and enabling users to complete tasks with minimal friction. The design approach prioritized modularity and scalability, ensuring that core interface elements could be reused and adapted as the product evolves. Interactive states, layout structures, and component behavior were thoughtfully developed to support consistent usability patterns across the platform. High-contrast typography, intentional spacing, and visual cues were employed to guide users’ attention without overwhelming their cognitive load.
