Freight Class — Enterprise Freight Operations Platform

Fahad Patel

Freight Class is a large-scale freight management platform built to centralize complex logistics, auditing, financial, and client operations.

The platform has been continuously developed over multiple years, expanding from core freight workflows into a connected operational system spanning multiple departments, clients, and external systems.
Rather than functioning as a standalone invoicing or shipment management application, Freight Class connects the complete operational chain — shipment operations → auditing → finance → payments → client portals — with each department operating within workflows tailored to its responsibilities.
The platform supports multiple clients with client-specific business rules, workflows, dashboards, and operational requirements, while processing high volumes of freight and financial data.

Key Capabilities

Multi-Client Freight Management — Manage freight operations across multiple clients within one platform.
Client-Specific Workflows — Configure operational processes and business rules around individual client requirements.
Shipment Management — Manage shipments and their associated operational data.
BOL Management — Handle Bills of Lading and related freight documentation.
Fleet & Tracking — Manage fleet-related operations and shipment tracking.
High-Volume Data Processing — Process large volumes of operational and financial freight data.
Audit Infrastructure — Built-in auditing workflows for reviewing freight and financial data.
Invoice Management — Generate, process, and manage invoices as part of the broader financial workflow.
Finance Workflows — Connect audited freight data with downstream financial operations.
Payment Workflows — Manage payment-related processes within the platform.
Client Portals — Provide clients with dedicated access to operational information, dashboards, and reports.
Dashboards & Reporting — Provide operational and client-specific reporting across the platform.
Business Rules Engine — Support customized logic and workflows based on client requirements.
External Integrations — Connect freight operations with external systems and services.
Multi-Department Operations — Connect logistics, auditing, finance, and client-facing operations within one system.

Cross-Department Workflow

The core strength of Freight Class is how different departments connect through the same operational data and workflows.
A typical process can move through:
Shipment Operations → Freight Data → Audit → Finance → Payment → Client Portal
Each stage has its own workflows, permissions, business rules, and operational requirements while remaining connected to the underlying freight record.
This eliminates the need for departments to operate from disconnected systems and creates a continuous workflow from the original freight activity through financial processing and client delivery.

Built for Multiple Clients

Freight Class operates as a multi-client platform, but clients do not simply share the same generic workflow.
Different clients can require different rules, processes, data requirements, integrations, and reporting structures. The platform has therefore been continuously extended to accommodate client-specific workflows and business logic without turning the system into a collection of disconnected applications.

Long-Term Platform Development

This is not a project that was built and handed over after launch.
Freight Class has been continuously developed over approximately five years, with new capabilities, integrations, workflows, and infrastructure added as operational requirements evolved.
The architecture and product have therefore had to support both ongoing feature development and the stability required by an established production system.

Outcome

The result is an evolving enterprise freight platform that connects logistics, auditing, finance, payments, and client operations while supporting multiple clients, high-volume workloads, complex business rules, and continuous system expansion.
