Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the EQE 500 4Matic SUV in the Indian market. The price starts at Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom).

This flagship model is set to redefine the luxury electric SUV segment with its remarkable features and performance.

Mercedes-Benz has chosen to bring the top-tier version of the EQE SUV to our shores, leaving the more powerful AMG-spec models for another day. This decision further shows their commitment to providing Indian customers with the epitome of style and efficiency. The EQE 500 now completes the trio of Mercedes EVs in India, joining its electric siblings, the EQB SUV and the EQS sedan.

Draped in the signature style of Mercedes’ electric fleet, the EQE SUV exudes sophistication with its sleek lines and seamless curves. The design elements include aerodynamic wheels, a meticulously sealed front grille, 20-inch wheels and an air suspension system. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle stands at 4863mm in length and 1685mm in height. It further comes with a wheelbase of 3030mm.

Stepping inside the EQE 500 SUV feels like a leap into the future. The standout feature is undoubtedly the 56-inch Hyperscreen unit, a lavish standard inclusion. Comprising three interconnected screens protected by sturdy tempered glass, this setup serves not only as an information hub but also transforms into an entertainment haven for passengers.

The feature highlights include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a sonorous 15-speaker Burmester sound system, a High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter ensuring pristine cabin air quality, and front-seat massage functions for an unparalleled level of comfort.

Under the hood, the EQE 500 SUV houses a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, complete with an off-road package as standard. Powering this electric wonder is a 90.56kWh battery, boasting a claimed WLTP range of 550km. While it comes with an 11kW AC charger, it can impress with its ability to support up to 170kW of DC fast charging.

The motor generates 408 bhp power and 858 Nm of torque. The vehicle further accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in a mere 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h. The EQE also offers drivers the freedom to choose from three levels of regeneration, effortlessly controlled via paddle shifters behind the wheel. As a testament to Mercedes’ confidence in its technology, the EQE 500 4Matic SUV comes with an impressive 10-year battery warranty.

While this automotive masterpiece may come with a slightly higher price tag, it arrives in India as a fully assembled unit. The electric SUV rivals the like of the recently unveiled Audi Q8 e-tron (Rs 1.14 crore-1.26 crore), the BMW iX (Rs 1.21 crore), and the Jaguar I-Pace (Rs 1.20 crore).
