Top Five Museums you should visit in Texas.

The Lone Star State has a rich history and, is often overlooked in the fine arts world. When traveling to Texas of course you should visit signifcant landmarks like the Alamo or the Capital building but if you want to experience a more educational and wide range journey through Texas history and culture you should visits these sites.

Number Five: The George Bush Presidental Library and Museum

Located on the grounds of Texas A&M this Presidental Library takes a deep look at the life of the first President Bush. Highlights include his personal through the lens of nearly nine decades of U.S. History. Featuring a Torpedo Bomber the President flew in WWII, pieces of the Berlin Wall, Replica sets of the President's offices at Camp David, and the White House. The Museum also features a changing Exhibit that often features politically related topics and exhibits related to the Bush family's interest.

Number Four: The Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and Museum

Located in Waco, Texas this Museum is dedicated to the Texas Rangers. The highest-ranking police force in the state of Texas, the rangers are known Worldwide and recognized as an international policing force. The museum goes through the detailed history of the rangers starting in the era before the Texas Revolution to its modern-day focus and achievements in Crime fighting. A highlight for any fan of the wild west history or true-crime podcast.

Number Three: N.A.S.A Space Center Houston

A part of the Smithson system of Museums the space center is a part working center for N.A.S.A mission control. And is also a historical museum dedicated to showing the importance of Space travel and its history to the Public. The highlights of the Museum include retired Space Shuttle and Saturn five rockets. This museum has lots of information for adults and lots of play experiences for children to interact and learn about space and what it is like to be an astronaut. We would avoid this location in Summer especially if you plan to take the tram tour ride the line is somewhat long and it gets very hot. Other than that it is a unique experience and you can always top the day off with Astronaut ice cream.

Number Two: Blue Bell Creamery

Now you may be thinking why would an ice cream parlor be on a museum list. Blue Bell Ice cream is a critical piece of food in the south. And when you visit the factory in Brenham Texas you get to see them make the ice cream. You also get a little insight history into the company and at the end you get to pick from one of their many flavors of ice cream to eat. It entertaining for any kid or adult who loves a pint and not many companies in the U.S. allow this kind of inside access to their factories or production lines.

Number One: The Houston Museum of Natural Science

Probably the most popular Museum in the state of Texas. The Museum of Natural Science is home to thousands of artifacts and fossils. The museum covers millions of years of world history. From it expansive dinosaur fossil and gemstone rooms. The study of weather cycles and simple machines in an interactive kid play area. One of the largest collections of Native American history and ever-changing ancient history exhibits that has seen ancient Rome and Egypt most recently. For any kind of history or science lover, this museum has something for anyone to experience and enjoy. (Also can't forget the butterfly room and the giant IMAX theater.)
