Fieldlane — Reusable Service Operations Platform
The problem Service businesses often receive incomplete requests through calls, texts, and generic forms. Availability lives in the owner's head, changes are hard to track, and staff spend time chasing job details before they can confirm anything.
The solution I designed Fieldlane as a reusable core with two connected surfaces: an embeddable customer intake flow and a responsive operator dashboard. Customers provide the service, location, timing, access notes, job details, and photos before confirmation. Operators manage requests, availability, bookings, rescheduling, customers, service settings, and operational signals from desktop or mobile.
What the platform handles • Role-aware dashboard views and mobile navigation • Availability rules, blackout dates, buffers, and capacity • Request review, confirmation, modification, cancellation, and rescheduling • Photo-aware quoting and condition notes • Customer history, status changes, and internal notes • Loading, empty, permission, validation, and failure states
Reusable architecture The scheduling and operations core stays generic while industry language, service rules, and intake fields can be tailored for detailing, collision repair, home services, or another appointment-based business without rebuilding the platform.
