As aviation connectivity shifts from luxury to necessity, airlines demand faster deployment of revenue-generating services and features across their fleets. However, the industry remains bottlenecked by monolithic software systems requiring months-long deployment cycles and manual, on-site installations - creating significant barriers to scaling new services and responding to market opportunities.
Leading this transformation at Viasat, I designed Dispatcher, a modern fleet-wide software deployment platform that breaks down monolithic packages into modular components that can be staged and deployed over-the-air. By enabling independent deployment of core, configuration, and third-party software components, the platform increased release cycles by 25% and decreased manual USB installations, creating a foundation for rapid scaling of value-added services across aircraft fleets.
