Museum of Jewish Montreal Brand Identity

The Museum of Jewish Montreal is an institution that “seeks to make the heritage of places, events, people and stories of the Montreal's Jewish community engaging and easily accessible”. Located in the heart of Montreal’s historic Jewish neighbourhood, they lead walking tours, exhibit contemporary art, host cultural events, and serve up new takes on Jewish food.
In 2014, I worked with the museum's founder to design a brand identity that could support the organisation from an online-first community project to a fully-fledged institution with a permanent site and year-round programming.
The colour palette was slightly refreshed from the original identity. We chose Adelle—a slab-serif with softer qualities—as the primary typeface.
In the autumn of 2016, the Museum of Jewish Montreal teamed up with Réservoir, a Montreal Brewery, to reconstruct a 200-year-old beer recipe developed by Quebec's first Jewish family. Having previously worked with the Museum on their brand identity, I had the privilege of designing the labels for this beer.
