I rewrote and designed a new resume for a client, Rachel Triska, working in the nonprofit industry in Dallas.
What the client needed
This client wanted an updated resume that captured her personality with an aesthetic, professional and tailored design. Rachel had been in a pastor role with a Dallas-based organization for more than a decade and wanted to craft a resume that highlighted her skills without pigeonholing her into pastoral roles in her burgeoning job search.
What tools I used
Canva, a web-based and user-friendly graphic design, platform allowed her to have a beautiful resume and ease of access to edit later on. This platform also provides sharable links which makes editing and web sharing very simple.
The final product
Rachel felt strongly about incorporating Earthy tones as a small tribute to her love of nature and spending time outdoors. I chose a color pallet that also complimented Rachel's cover photo.
The challenge I had was finding a layout that allowed for a sizable amount of copy while remaining organized with ample white space.
Rachel's resume is a combination of a traditional and functional resume. That means that we highlighted a handful of key skills and qualifications to expound on but also listed her most relevant work experience and degrees.
