Blog article

What the client wanted
USC News, a website with curated stories highlighting research news and feature stories from faculty, staff and students, needed a blog post on COVID-19 and pregnancy to answer common concerns and questions of pregnant women amid the pandemic.
How I wrote the article
I researched trending news articles covering this issue and parsed out which questions would best represent what was on readers' minds at the time. Here's what my research suggested the best questions were.
Are pregnant women at a higher risk of getting COVID-19 than other women?
What should pregnant women be most worried about?
Are there risks to the baby?
Can moms transmit the virus to the baby during childbirth?
I interviewed an obstetrics and gynecology faculty member who specializes in maternal-fetal medicine and wrote the article and his quotes based on my research and findings from my conversation with him.
The final product
The final blog article was left in a Q&A format. I recommended this format as it's concise and a clear way to organize various sub-points about the same topic. The tone is informative, much like a health news article, and to the point.
