CRM Portal Redesign for Manufacturing Efficiency

Background šŸ‘€

The CRM (Customer Relationship Management) application serves as a centralized portal for various stakeholders, including marketing and sales teams. Over time, the existing CRM portal began facing several challenges, which significantly reduced efficiency and hindered daily operations.
As a temporary workaround, stakeholders resorted to using Google Spreadsheets for data exchange. While functional in the short term, this approach is highly inefficient and introduces substantial risks if adopted as a long-term solution.

Problem

The previous CRM application faced multiple challenges that limited its effectiveness for stakeholders. Key issues included recurring bugs that caused inaccurate data exchange, an outdated user interface, and a confusing overall user experience.
Stakeholders expect a unified portal that is accessible to all teams, enabling fast, accurate, and reliable data exchange that reflects real field conditions.
šŸ‘‰šŸ» The use of the AdminLTE template limited developers in enhancing the platform, both in terms of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).

Solution

To address these issues, I conducted several meetings and iterations with the development team regarding the previous CRM portal. Based on the findings, I designed a new UI tailored to stakeholder needs and applied proper UX principles aligned with their requirements and expectations.
šŸš€ The purpose of developing this CRM portal is to serve as a bridge between stakeholders, enabling daily data and information exchange regarding vendors and goods in process.

Process

During the development process, I conducted meetings with users and stakeholders to identify and discuss the features to be developed. I began by creating a reusable system design, then updated the UI to align with current trends. Additionally, I refined the UX design to ensure it met user needs effectively.

UI Design & Prototype

Looking at the timeline and some of the features that I need to develop, it makes me go straight to high-fidelity to present it to several stakeholders every week.

Product Successes šŸ‘

The development of this portal was strongly supported by stakeholders, from the central commissioner to each General Manager. I also had the opportunity to present directly to the brand, where I outlined the project timeline and upcoming features to be developed.

What I Learned 🌱

I learned how the system in a manufacturing company operates to process vendor data, which is essential for maintaining strong relationships between vendors and the company. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of continuously maintaining the portal to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in daily operations
