RinkSync: A Hockey League App Players Can Get Into Again

RinkSync runs a hockey league from one app: players, teams, games, stats, badges and chat, plus a dashboard for each rink and a platform admin over all of it. Its founder had moved the app from another AI builder onto Base44 himself, and then the player side stopped loading. In his words: "When you log in it just goes to a blank screen." I started with a paid audit to find what was actually wrong, then fixed it in a two-week fixed-price sprint.
Built an app with AI and now it won't load, or won't behave? I find the cause, fix it, and leave checks behind so it stays fixed. Book a call at cal.com/andres-sepulveda-morales or email andres@redmage.cc.

Players get back in

Every screen on the player side had two addresses that differed only in capital letters, and the app bounced between them forever, so nothing ever loaded. One routing fix brought the player app back, and players who sign in now land on their own home screen instead of an admin page they can't use.

Every game counts

Games never closed on their own, so the statistics had nothing to count. Games now finish, results feed the stats, a completed game's score can be corrected, and past games open to their details.

Rewards mean something

Badges read from a shared set of numbers, so every player saw the same progress. Each player now earns their own. The login streak counts one visit a day, the trivia streak ends when a day is missed, and the daily trivia question changes each day.

Teams, chat and rinks connect

A new team saved its rink as plain text, so it never appeared on that rink's dashboard. Teams now link to their rink. In chat, direct messages show the right person, team managers can send broadcasts, the Contact button on a free agent opens a conversation, and profiles that showed "Player not found" load again. The layout fits an iPhone without scrolling sideways.

Staying on Base44, on purpose

The audit recommended moving off Base44, and a written comparison set out both paths. The founder chose to stay, because he likes seeing the app and changing it visually, so the job became making the fixes hold there. Two automated checks guard the routing and badge ownership, and a publishing runbook in the repository keeps the next change from undoing this one.
