Beta Blues Robotics

I had the pleasure to work with a local Oregon robotics team for my Senior Capstone project. Having experience with robotics when I was in high school, I wanted to use my capstone to give back to the community. Specifically, an all-girls high school robotics team.

The Beta Blues did not have a website before I began working with them. They faced many disadvantages prior to having a website, which included not having a lot of sponsors due to being a private Catholic school, low membership rate, and difficulties with funding.

Goals/Requirements:

Create a website with potential sponsors in mind

User-friendly and approachable to potential members

I felt as though Squarespace was the best option to use for this project. Though it is pricier than Wordpress, it has an easier interface for the students and their mentors to use once I completed the project.

The Beta Blues website utilizes a sub-domain because the high school wanted to keep the website on their server. It was a great experience working with the school's tech guru on connecting their website to the server.

Current sponsors logo display 🐟 Despite having issues with gaining more sponsors, the Beta Blues do already have an impressive list of sponsors already. By displaying these big name businesses on the homepage of their website, it would give their team a boost of credibility to attract the sponsors they want.

Introducing the team 🙏 I created a designated page that would introduce the team members, their roles, and pronouns. This page would add credibility for sponsors, as well as show parents and other students how active the team is.

Overall when I completed this project back in 2020, I was very proud with the results, and the team enjoyed having a website to show their parents.
