In a world of rapidly advancing technology, our team had the privilege of working on a groundbreaking AI mobile app poised to redefine user experiences. Due to the sensitive nature of our project, governed by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), we'll refer to it as "Project A." As a Product Marketing Manager, I led the charge in bringing Project A to the broader market, employing a comprehensive array of strategies and tactics across multiple disciplines.

Objective:

The primary goal of our endeavor was to successfully launch and promote Project A, positioning it as a leading solution in its niche within the mobile app market. This involved developing and executing a strategic marketing plan, managing PR initiatives, and enhancing user experience through targeted UX writing.

My process:

My marketing process is dynamic, reflecting the ever-changing nature of the market. Recognizing the unpredictability inherent in the market landscape, I advocate for a fluid marketing strategy that remains adaptable to shifting trends and consumer behaviors. While thorough research serves as the foundation of my process, I also adopt a forward-thinking mindset.

Defining Product Goals:

I initiate the process by engaging with stakeholders to understand their vision and goals for the product. Through insightful conversations and clarifying questions, I gather essential information to align marketing goals with overall product objectives.

Thorough Research:

Research forms a cornerstone of my approach, encompassing various facets such as:

In this particular case, I probed deeply into the awareness and challenges surrounding AI chatbots among our target users. Through meticulous questioning, I sought to uncover the specific problems our product could solve and how it differentiated from existing solutions.
I also scrutinized potential barriers to entry, particularly in the rural Indian market, advocating for a strategic shift to target tech enthusiasts based on insights into literacy rates, internet accessibility, smartphone capabilities, and cultural factors.

Establishing Value Proposition:

Following stakeholder agreement on the shift in target market, I defined our value proposition for tech enthusiasts in India. This involved identifying key market trends and crafting a compelling narrative that resonated with our target audience.

GTM Strategy Development:

With a clear understanding of our target market and value proposition, I moved into developing our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy. This encompassed defining distribution channels, positioning, messaging, risk considerations, PR strategy, KPIs, and timelines.

Product Execution Management:

I transitioned into managing the execution of our GTM strategy, overseeing the team's responsibilities and roles. This involved coordinating efforts across various departments to ensure alignment with the established strategy and timeline.
By integrating these strategic steps into my marketing process, I was able to navigate the complexities of bringing our AI mobile app to market while ensuring alignment with stakeholder goals and market realities.

User Acquisition & Engagement:

Implemented user acquisition strategies utilizing targeted advertising, app store optimization (ASO), and referral programs to drive downloads and installations.
Developed retention tactics such as personalized messaging, in-app notifications, and feature updates to enhance user satisfaction and loyalty.

Successful Market Launch: Project A was successfully introduced to the market, garnering positive reviews and acclaim from users and industry experts alike.
