Audiobook Narration & Production Workflow

Overview: While completing my first full audiobook narration project, I built a repeatable production workflow to manage long-form performance, pronunciation research, recording consistency, editing, technical quality control, pickups, and final delivery.

The challenge: A full audiobook is not simply a long voice recording. The project required consistent tone and pacing across many sessions, reliable file organization, accurate pronunciation of unfamiliar names and places, clean edits, technical compliance, and a clear way to track progress and corrections.

Evaluated project length, payment structure, deadline, and production workload before accepting work.

Organized chapter files, backups, session notes, and pronunciation research.

Developed a consistent Audacity recording and editing process.

Built a starting-point processing workflow for noise control, compression, and level adjustment.

Used listening passes and technical checks before delivery.

Logged pickups and corrected files without losing version control.

Created ACX profile, audition, and Fiverr service materials around the same workflow.

Result: I completed a full audiobook narration project and established a more organized, repeatable process for future audiobook and voice-over work.
