Website Design & Development for SLAD

Founded in 1932, The Society of London Dealers (SLAD) is a not-for-profit organisation for enhancing public confidence in responsible fine art dealing. Today it has over 170 members throughout the UK who have been carefully vetted for their business integrity and art expertise.
The Society represents the interests of its members in discussions with the UK government and other professional bodies on art trade issues. These include anti money laundering regulations, VAT legislation, import and export regulations for artworks and artist’s resale rights. They facilitate access to professional advice on taxation and legal matters. They also publish a quarterly newsletter and arrange webinars for members on key issues like blockchain technology.
Their request for a website redesign was really articulate and ambitious. They wanted to get away from the looks of their old website, which had been around for more than a decade and was not aligning with the tastes of their visitors and the current market. They also wanted to bet heavily on social media and interact with their users more, not only through different media, but also through exhibitions and events.
The new branding and design are pretty much a complete refresh over the old one; only the logo was kept from the old brand guidelines. We have updated the sitemap and added a more comprehensive members’ area, with useful contact, info, documents and webinars. The navigation to find a dealer or an artist was reimagined and redesigned.
SLAD are now ready to attract younger, worldwide visitors, interested in what the UK art market has to offer.
