Client

Coople is a staffing platform based in Switzerland. They connect companies with temporary workers through their web and iOS apps.

Project

improve application experience for long-term jobs after negative user feedback
reduce the number of invalid applications and soften the blow of rejection

My role

sole content designer working with 1 product designer and 1 product manager

Challenges

strict design system that wasn’t built with content in mind
limited project scope and a busy design partner
advocating for CX, not just UX (creating a more user-friendly process to design around)

Why does it matter?

making a difference with limited scope
using service design and stakeholder management to improve the product beyond UX
creating my own high-fidelity wireframes to support my product designer colleague during a busy time for here

Highlights

worked with stakeholders to properly define what counts as an application stage
convinced the team to make the application form mandatory to simplify the flow
added a variable label for application form time
simplified and clarified other microcopy
moved rejection news inside the app to avoid surprising the user with bad news
created a dedicated modal instead of reusing the existing job details page
empathetic, candid, challenging copy fits in with brand tone of voice
primary action button gets the user back into the app to find new opportunities (a key conversion goal for the business)
