Provident Federal Credit Union has served its Delaware community for decades with member-first banking, competitive rates, and personalized service. But an outdated, malware-compromised website undermined trust, frustrated members trying to check rates or find branch hours, and left staff struggling with manual updates across scattered pages.
Patrick Appelman (as lead developer under NextGen Creative) delivered a complete redesign and secure custom rebuild—transforming Provident into a fast, accessible, and future-proof digital credit union that members love using.
The Challenge: Security Breach + Outdated Experience
After a malware incident exposed vulnerabilities in their previous site, Provident needed more than a fresh look. They required:

We built a fully custom WordPress theme powered by Tailwind CSS, hardened from day one:
Clean codebase with latest security best practices
Regular automated updates and proactive monitoring setup

Smart Tools That Save Time & Boost Engagement
Flexible Promo Slider System
Built a reusable, per-page carousel that marketers control entirely from WordPress. Slides can be scheduled with start/end dates and automatically disappear when campaigns end—no stale promotions ever again.
Custom Rates Manager
Created a dedicated “Rates” custom post type so staff can update a loan or deposit rate once—every instance across the site (homepage tables, product pages, calculators) updates instantly.
Closings & Hours Manager
An intelligent footer element now displays the next upcoming holiday or weather closing, while a full-year schedule lives on the Contact page—keeping members informed without manual coding or user edits.
Accessibility First – Full WCAG 2.2 AA Compliance
Every element was designed and tested for accessibility:
Proper contrast and focus states
Semantic markup and ARIA labels
Keyboard and screen-reader friendly navigation
Alt attributes on all imagery
High contrast “dark mode” support
