BACKGROUND

This project involved creating a website for Croí Óir Tattoo Studio, located in Glanmire, Co. Cork. The goal was to design a visually appealing and user-friendly online platform that reflects the studio's values of creativity, workmanship, and community. Research was conducted to understand the studio's needs, target audience, and competition.
The website includes a captivating home page, a comprehensive FAQ section, a contact page, and a portfolio showcasing the studio's artwork. The result is a professional and responsive website that effectively communicates the studio's unique offerings and encourages users to book consultations and tattoos.

CHALLENGES

Balancing artistic expression with usability: Striking the right balance between showcasing the studio's artwork and maintaining a user-friendly experience was a challenge.
Addressing diverse user preferences: The target audience for tattoo studios can have diverse tastes and preferences. Designing a website that appeals to various artistic styles and caters to different tattoo interests while maintaining a cohesive brand identity was a challenge.
Marketing and value proposition: Communicating the unique aspects of Croí Óir Tattoo Studio, such as their focus on traditional and modern tattoos, workmanship, and community, presented a challenge. Ensuring that the website effectively conveyed these differentiators and captured the essence of the studio's brand.
Testing: Testing was conducted to identify and resolve any technical issues, ensure responsive design across different devices, and validate the functionality of interactive elements.

BRAND LOOK & FEEL

Croí Óir Tattoo Studio's branding embodies a distinct and captivating look and feel. The visual identity combines elements of tradition and modernity. The primary colours of black and gold convey a sense of sophistication and timelessness. The use of these colours, along with carefully selected typography, creates a balanced and refined aesthetic. The overall design conveys craftsmanship and professionalism while maintaining a welcoming and approachable atmosphere.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Understanding the target audience: By conducting research and developing user personas, I was able to gain a better understanding of the target audience & project goals. This knowledge guided my design and UX decisions to ensure they aligned with the audience's preferences and needs.
Branding and visual identity: The combination of black and gold colours, typography, and imagery resulted in a sophisticated and captivating appearance that conveyed both professionalism and creativity.
User-centred design: The website was designed with the user in mind, making it easy to navigate and understand. The layout and information were organised thoughtfully to provide a user-friendly experience.
Incorporation of pain points and benefits: By addressing the pain points and desires of the target audience, the website was able to effectively communicate the benefits of choosing Croí Óir Tattoo Studio.
In summary, this project highlighted the importance of understanding the intended audience, establishing a strong brand and visual identity, prioritising user-centred design, and addressing customer concerns. When these components come together, they create an engaging and effective website that accurately represents a brand and encourages successful conversions.
