1. Project Overview
Cloud College is an alternative higher education concept launching in Paris in 2026. The platform lets students pursue any online degree program at a fraction of the traditional cost, while still living a full campus experience — community, events, startups, and social life — in one of the world's most iconic cities.

The brief was to build the marketing website from scratch: a pre-launch, waitlist-driven site that communicates the core value proposition clearly to prospective students aged 18–25, while simultaneously conveying enough credibility to satisfy parents, journalists, and potential investors.

2. Goals & Objectives
Primary Goal
• Drive waitlist sign-ups ahead of the 2026 launch
• Communicate the Cloud College concept quickly — visitors should understand it within 10 seconds of landing on the page
• Build trust with a dual audience: ambitious young adults AND their parents / the press

Secondary Goals
• Establish a distinctive brand identity that differentiates Cloud College from both traditional universities and generic EdTech startups
• Create a reusable design system that can scale to future pages (Campus Life, Launch Your Future, Contact)
• Ensure the site performs well as a conversion tool — clear CTAs, minimal friction to sign up

3. Target Audience
The site needed to simultaneously speak to two distinct groups:

Primary — Young Adults (18–25)
Secondary — Parents / Press / Investors
• Ambitious, independent, entrepreneurial
• Skeptical of traditional institutions
• Drawn to freedom, community, experience
• Budget-conscious but experience-hungry
• Need credibility signals and legitimacy
• Want to see a coherent, serious operation
• Respond to clear structure and professionalism
• Looking for safety, value, outcomes

4. Design Direction
The central design challenge was balancing corporate credibility with a tone that genuinely resonates with young adults. The solution was a visual language that feels premium and considered — not startup-generic — while using bold typography, motion, and direct copy to connect with a younger audience.

Typography
• All-caps display headlines in a compressed grotesque — high impact, confident, editorial
• Mixed case for body sections to ease readability and soften the tone
• Large type used as a design element, not just copy — the homepage hero 'College Reinvented' is a statement as much as it is a headline

Color Palette
• Deep navy / near-black backgrounds for hero sections — communicates seriousness and premium positioning
• Clean white content sections to provide contrast and breathing room
• Accent used sparingly for CTAs and highlights, keeping it energetic without being loud

Motion & Video
• Background video loops play on desktop — real campus/lifestyle footage grounds the abstract concept in something tangible
• A marquee ticker ('JOIN THE WAITLIST ✦ LAUNCHING IN 2026') runs persistently below the nav — borrows energy from streetwear and music brands
• Scroll-triggered reveals keep the experience dynamic without being distracting

Layout
• Full-bleed sections with strong vertical rhythm — each section is a standalone moment
• Sticky navigation with minimal items keeps focus on the content
• Strategic use of stat callouts ('SAVE UP TO 50%') to communicate value at a glance

5. Content Strategy & Copywriting
The copy was written to mirror the dual audience. The voice alternates between direct, confrontational challengers ('COLLEGE IS BROKEN. WE'RE FIXING IT.') for the young adult reader, and grounded, reassuring clarity ('Save thousands on tuition by studying any online program') for parents and press.

Key messaging pillars built into the homepage narrative:

• Freedom — study anything, or skip studying altogether and build something
• Community — the social and experiential side of college is preserved, even enhanced
• Value — same credentials, 50% lower cost, in Paris
• Modernity — an institution that actually understands how young people work and live today

6. Technical Build Platform
Framer — no-code / design-first CMS

Framer was selected because it allows for high-fidelity, motion-rich design output without the overhead of a custom dev stack — critical for a pre-launch site where speed to market and visual quality both matter. The component-based system also allows the Cloud College team to manage content independently post-handoff.

7. Pages Delivered
Homepage Launch Your Future Campus Life About Contact
  8. Outcomes
• Launched site publicly as a pre-launch waitlist hub ahead of 2026 opening
• Visual identity successfully positions Cloud College as a credible, premium-yet-accessible alternative education brand
• Site structure scales to support additional pages and content as the launch date approaches
• Dual-tone design and copy strategy allows a single site to authentically speak to both prospective students and institutional stakeholders
