It’s been almost two months since I started writing on Medium, and so far, I have published a total of eight articles. Some of them have received positive feedback, while a couple didn’t perform as well as I expected.
I discovered several factors, but I’m sharing the five most important ones with you. These are essential points you should check in your articles:
1) The Length Of The Article:
The length of your article matters a lot.
Don’t assume that writing lengthy articles will automatically impress readers. Everyone is busy and wants to gain knowledge in minimal time.
Make your article detailed, but avoid making it unnecessarily long.
2) An Eye-Catchy Title :
The first thing the audience notices is your title.
Your title should be attractive enough to make readers want to click and read your article.
For example:
"Lose Belly Fat"
"Lose Belly Fat in Just 7 Days: Secret Recipe Revealed"
Between the two, the second title is more likely to grab attention because it creates curiosity. So, make sure your title is strong and compelling.
3) Add Personal Experience :
In my opinion, this is one of the most important points that many of us overlook.
Adding personal experiences to your article increases its value and builds trust with your audience.
For example:
"How to Earn $100 in a Week?"
"How 'I' Earned $100 in a Week?"
The second title feels more relatable because it’s personal. Readers connect better when they see real experiences. So, try to include your personal journey in your articles.
4) Use Alt Text for Images :
Alt-text is another crucial factor that many of us either ignore or are unaware of.
Search engines can't see images, but they can read alt text. Adding alt-text improves image SEO, helping your content rank better on search engines.
If you’re unsure how to add alt text, you can find helpful resources here.
5) Be To the Point :
Your article should be concise and to the point.
If someone is investing their time in reading your work, they shouldn’t feel like it's a waste of time. Avoid unnecessary details — stay straightforward and engaging.
These are the five points believe everyone should be aware of.
If you pay attention to these areas, your articles can improve significantly. If you're a beginner like me, focusing on these points can make a real difference.
"No one is perfect from the beginning. Don’t give up — just keep writing. It may not be the best today, but one day it will be."
(I’m trying to keep myself motivated, too!)
So, keep thinking, keep writing, and make the world a better place with your words.
Thankyou!
